Sherwynn is an Intern Therapist who is studying for her Master of Clinical Mental Health and Psychotherapy at the National University of Singapore Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine (NUS YLLSOM) and Mind Science Centre.
Sherwynn holds a Bachelor of Social Sciences in Psychology (with Honours) from NUS and is currently working part-time at the A*STAR Institute for Human Development and Potential, Translation Neuroscience Department as a Research Officer. At her work, Sherwynn administers standardised assessments such as the Bayley-4, for data collection from various cohort studies and engages in research data management of collected data from sleep measures.
She previously interned at NUH REACH-west, working closely with schools to provide timely assessments and interventions to school-aged children that are referred under the REACH programme. From this internship she has seen a variety of cases such as referrals for autism, ADHD, school refusal, anxiety and depression.
Her Masters capstone project is a primary study that seeks to explore the relationship between birth order and perfectionism, and its subsequent influence on obsessive compulsive traits, body dissatisfaction, anxiety and depressive symptoms in Singaporean young adults.
Outside of work and school, Sherwynn enjoys getting a good workout with her peers and has been a spin instructor for 5 years and counting! She is also a proud pawrent to an adorable toy maltipoo and loves to bring him for café dates on the weekends.
