Dear patients, I’m not sure where you guys are getting the wrong information from. Our clinic is definitely not a psychiatrist clinic, and we definitely cannot freely prescribe benzodiazepines, more commonly known as sleeping tablets.
For example, xanax (alprazolam), diazepam (valium), zopiclone, zopiderm, etc. If you come down to ask for these medications, you will be charged a consultation and still not get the medications that you think you need.
What we can do however, is to treat the underlying cause to your problem, with other medications, or psychotherapy or run some tests.
So, if you only want sleeping medication and no other treatment, please go to a psychiatrist clinic to save yourself some frustration.
However, if really want to treat the root problem, you are welcome to come.
Why?
“Sleeping pills” are short term solutions, and here at Zenith, we do not believe in short term.
“Sleeping pills” cause addictions and dependence over long term, meaning, that the body will get used to the drug and require higher doses over time.
We are also bound by strict rules by the government to prescribe these medications.
Then how?
You can try some sleep hygiene, having a quiet, and dark room to sleep.
Do a lot of exercise in the day time, but not 3 hours before sleep.
Avoid coffee and tea and alcohol completely.
Get 1 hour of sunlight daily.
Have a daily bedtime routine, which includes avoiding screens for a few hours before sleep.
Treat underlying sleep issues like sleep apnea, medical issues like thyroid problems and psychiatric issues like anxiety.
If nothing works, sometimes you might need medications, but we will still not give you sleeping pills.
