Control Screen Time for Children

Did you know that excessive screen time can be bad for your kids?

It can lead to more obesity, mental health problems and poor sleeping habits. It can also take away precious time that should be spent doing activities such as interacting with other children and adults.

Below 18 months

Recommend NO screen time at all, unless for video calls.

1.5 to 6 years old

Limit to less than 1 hour daily.

7 to 12 years old

Need to discuss with the child to come up with a timetable that balances screen time with other healthy activities.

Meal times?

Recommended to turn off all screens.

Sleep times?

Avoid screen times around bedtime as it may affect the melatonin regulation in the body.

Having trouble with screen time in the family?

Our Mental Health GP or Clinical Psychologist can have a look.
