Siyu Mao is a graduate of University College London with a degree in Psychology and Language Sciences (2:1 Honours) and is currently pursuing a Master of Clinical Mental Health and Psychotherapy at the National University of Singapore. Her current clinical focus is on working with adults and adolescents, exploring therapeutic approaches that support emotional regulation and psychological wellbeing.
Her academic and clinical journey has been shaped by experiences in both research and practice. Siyu has contributed to emotion regulation research, including studies on affect labelling and worry, and has accumulated hands-on experience in outpatient and inpatient mental health settings. She is trained in counselling skills, with foundational experience in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and demonstrates a client-centred approach grounded in empathy, active listening, and psychological formulation.
Siyu brings a thoughtful and research-informed perspective to her clinical work, with a strong interest in evidence-based interventions and the development of meaningful therapeutic relationships.
